About the scores


A perfect inspection results in a score of 100. Demerits range from one point (least severe) to four points (most severe).

A restaurant can be marked for one 4-point violation and fail the inspection. Another way to fail is to score below 80, regardless if it includes a 4-point violation. A restaurant is typically given two weeks after a failed inspection to right the violation or violations.

The Stratford Health Department handles the inspections.
