A specialty pasta company in Stratford that has tripled its business since 2008 will soon double the square footage of its operation by moving to another location in town.

"We were looking for a larger facility, we wanted to stay in Stratford and this building came on the market," says Carl Zuanelli, president and founder of Nuovo Pasta.

The new 40,000-square-foot location at 1330 Honeyspot Road Ext. -- the current address of -- will double the operating space of Nuovo's present plant at 125 Bruce Ave., as well as add about 25 jobs, Zuanelli says.

"We have a new production line coming in from Italy," says Zuanelli of plans to start construction in a couple months and open the new facility in early 2013. All of Nuovo's manufacturing equipment comes from Italy, says the company's president, a New York native who started the venture in 1989.

Nuovo Pasta, which employs 72 people on Bruce Avenue, sells its award-winning pasta and sauces to stores and restaurants. In 2008, Nuovo began offering its products to larger supermarkets, which has just about tripled business, says Zuanelli.

July 21 will be UAC Stratford's last day. to read a letter on the closing from the sports facility's management.

Cant wait to see them go!!!!! Tractor trailer trucks parked outside your house running and exhaust filtering into your house. Bad decision to have a business at the end of a residential street with no concerns for the neighbors. The Town of Stratford Officials and deputy Chief do nothing about Nuovo breaking the Ordinance that was put into place. Kudos for how this company was started but bad decision on where it is on Bruce Ave. Not a very neighborly Company. Good riddance and they could not leave soon enough. Oh and by the way....Thanks for bring down property values on this section of town.
