The first annual "Shop Stratford" kicked off Saturday and runs through Wednesday as dozens of local merchants offer deals this holiday season.

The event is part of the town's Holiday Festival, which includes the annual tree lighting at Stratford Town Hall at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27. Photos with Santa follow the lighting, according to the flyer attached to this article as a PDF.
Before the lighting, there will be a puppet show at the Stratford Library at 4:30 p.m. Also, the Stratford High School Acapella Choir will play at Town Hall at 5:30 p.m. Yuletide carolers, hot cocoa and treats, and a vintage brass band will also be featured at the tree lighting.
