Gaetano's Edges Hannah's for Readers' Choice Deli

In awarding this week's Readers' Choice winner for , I almost wanted to pull a card similar to one my aunt used on me and my cousins when we were younger.

"You are my favorite nephew for your age," she'd tell me. "You are my favorite nephew for your age," she'd say to my cousin Jimmy.

It was that close between and .

Gaetano's edged Hannah's in the vote category, 497 (42%) to 436 (37%), but Hannah's received more positive comments by a score of 15 to 10. Gaetano's garnered more reviews and ratings (5) on its , but we haven't set one up yet for Hannah's.

So in deciding a winner, I counted Gaetano's five 5-star reviews as comments, which brought them up to 15, even with Hannah's. And with the slight advantage in the poll, it's Gaetano's whose been crowned the Readers' Choice winner for best sandwich shop in Stratford.

John's comment was in response to ardent Hannah's supporters, who, just so there are no hard feelings after being named second, really showed their dedication to the Paradise Green deli.

• : "Hannah's is wonderful. Sandwiches are great. Bill's soups are fantastic, he makes some of the best I have ever had. The hummus is tremendous, home made fresh and simply the best to be had. The staff is great everyone is very friendly and Hannah is a kind warm hearted woman. I would not step into any other deli in Stratford."
• : "Hannah's has the best steak and cheese anywhere! Prime Rib freshly sliced! It is amazing."
• : "Hannah's Kitchen is my families favorite deli!!! They have great food (including hot dinner's) and their service is the best!"
