Weekend Road Race to Benefit Stratford Dog Park

Proceeds from event will go to fund purchase of fencing for proposed Stratford Dog Park.

The Stratford Dog Park Action Committee is hosting a 5k/5-mile fundraising road race on Saturday, August 11, at 8 a.m. at in Stratford, Conn. All proceeds from the event are going to fund the purchase of fencing for the proposed Stratford Dog Park.

The race is open to the general public and well-behaved leashed pets are welcome.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. the day of the event or participants can pre-register online by clicking here. It's $20 to run the 5k and $25 to run the 5-mile race.

The five-mile course takes you around the scenic Lordship shoreline. For both distances participants can expect breathtaking views and a fast flat run!

After crossing the finish line racers can pick up a refreshing bottle of water, provided by the local Big Y grocery store, and stick around for the awards ceremony and post-race party which will feature a live DJ, slices from , a raffle and give-a-ways from other sponsors like , Pet Superbowl, Shoprite, Planet Fitness, Miami Sun Factory, and more!

Local celebrity, 'Batso' of the National Geographic Channel’s Rescue Ink will also be making an appearance and meeting with fans.
