Wing and Wheels 2011 'British Invasion!' Coming This Weekend to Airport

Volunteers still being sought for event and gala to follow.

More than 25,000 guests are expected during the 2-day Sikorsky sponsored event honoring Americas Veterans and to benefit Patient Airlift Services (PALS), an organization that provides free medical and humanitarian flights to those in need.

The event will host more than 75 award winning rare and collector cars from a wide range of eras featuring British technology... including demonstrations.

From the Air, sponsors are expecting more than 30 Vintage and Military Aircraft – Spitfires, Hurricanes, C-54 “Spirit of Freedom”, Sikorsky’s UH-60 Blackhawk and H-34, T-28 Trojan Flown by Astronaut Joe Edwards, Mitchell B-25 “Panchito”, C-23 Sherpa, C-130 Hercules; L-39 Albatross; C-45, T-6 Texan, Sopwith and Spad. We will also have aerobatic demonstrations and flights for kids.

There will also be a “Texas Hoedown” gala on Saturday night, with volunteer slots open for that event as well.  If you are interested in attending the event, please contact cbeale@sikorsky.com to reserve a table (10 people, $1200).
