In the Details: Ash

Yet, soon enough.

Ash

I put off clearing out the
Fireplace. I put off
Other chores, too, like
Laundry or dishes, but the
Ash heaping up
Under the grate is
Different. Its greasy
Remains are as
Dead and gone as
Just about any
Living thing can expect
To be, yet soon enough
(Once I transfer them
To compost),
They'll resurrect

In the
Life and body
Of a backyard's
Holy and
Common tomato.
