Stratford Native Appears On CT Style

Stratford native Joey Homza will make an appearance on WTNH News 8's Connecticut Style broadcast today at 12:30 p.m. Homza recently released his first album, "More Famous Than You," on July 6. Stratford Patch will be meeting with Homza later today for a profile interview.

Truly a game for all ages, Bingo will be played tonight at St. James School (1 Monument Place) starting at 6:30 p.m. The letters will be called out in the school's cafeteria, and dinner and snacks will be available. The event runs every Friday until October 21. For more information, call 203.375.5994.

Shakespeare in the Park

The Players at Putney Gardens, Stratford's only resident Shakespeare company, will perform the Bard's "The Winter's Tale" at Boothe Memorial Park at 8 p.m. The group has been performing at the park's Sunken Garden since 2003. Admission is free and patrons are encouraged to bring blankets or low lawn chairs. 

Soccer Camp

Surely with the U.S. women's soccer club making it to the World Cup finals -- which will be played Sunday against Japan -- the urge to kick around a ball has struck you. If so, come down to Short Beach Park today from 9 a.m. to noon and take part in a Victory Soccer Camp. Registration is not required.

Music on the Beach

Stick around Short Beach Park after soccer for some live music that plugs in at 6 p.m. The winner of Battle of the Bands and the band Nameless Wonder are scheduled to perform. Admission is free and open to all.
