Festival! Stratford Invites You to Celebrate the Bard

Celebrate William Shakespeare's birthday, Tuesday, April 23, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at Festival! Stratford headquarters in Paradise Green, Stratford.

The Stratford Center for the Arts, Stratford Arts Commission and CT Free Shakespeare invite you to join them for cake, a few Richard III monologues, memorabilia of past Festivals! as well as the American Shakespeare Festival Theatre,  and announcements about the upcoming 2013 Festival! Stratford.

 The Festival! Stratford headquarters is at 3546 Main St., Stratford, Conn.

 William Shakespeare was an English poet and playwright, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's pre-eminent dramatist. He is often called simply "The Bard." His surviving works consisting of 38 plays, 154 sonnets, two long narrative poems, and several other poems, have been translated into every major living language, and are performed more often than those of any other playwright.

 Festival! Stratford is an annual summer event consisting of five (or more!) days/nights of Shakespeare under the stars, art and music on the grounds of The American Shakespeare Festival Theatre. Free admission to Festival and plenty of free parking. Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket, picnic basket and friends. Dates for the 2013 Festival! will be announced on the 23rd, along with CT Free Shakespeare revealing this summer's play!

Stratford Center for the Arts at The American Shakespeare Festival Theatre works to restore the theatre and grounds as a premier performing arts destination by offering a wide range of artistic, cultural events and educational opportunities, while staying true to the works of William Shakespeare and is best known for producing Festival!
