Festival Organizers Seek More Volunteers

The public is being called upon to support an anticipated demand in volunteer help at Festival! Stratford 2011, which is slated to start on Thursday, Aug. 11.

Organizers of Festival! Stratford 2011 are anticipating "an increased demand for volunteers this year" and are asking for the public's help, according to a press release from the town of Stratford.

Festival personnel need more volunteers because they are shooting for "upwards of 29 volunteers to assist with each performance." Volunteers are still being sought in regard to ushering, parking management, staffing, vending, donation/raffle and main stage support.

The 6th annual Festival! Stratford -- held on the former American Shakespeare Theatre's grounds --  will run from Thursday, Aug. 11 to Sunday, Aug. 21 and feature two performances of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream," produced by Shakesperience Productions.

To volunteer, please contact town planner David Killeen at 203.385.4017 or at dkilleen@townofstratford.com.
