RisingStars@SLA (Stratford Library Association) is the 4th bi-annual (2005, 2007, 2009) performance event for teens produced by the Creative Writing Workshop (CWW) teens at the Stratford Library.
High school and college teens are encouraged to share their talents in poetry, prose, music, dance, art, and photography during an afternon of creativity in the Lovell Room at the library on Saturday, May 14th from 1 to 5pm.
Artwork from the high schools are displayed around the room which will be transformed into a coffehouse motif by the teens. This event not only showcases the talents of many teens (usually 20-30 perform) and 50+ display their artowrk, but it also encourages all teens who attend to explore their own creative talents.

The CWW group which meets monthly has written and received a $250 from Stratford Community Services to assist with this endeavor.
