“Oktoberfest” is a 16-day festival held annually in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, running from late September to the first weekend in October. It’s one of the most famous events in Germany, and is the world’s largest fair, with more than 5 million people attending every year.
Mark your calendars! The Historic Perry House is bringing Oktoberfest to Stratford! It won’t be a 16-day experience, but will be a one-evening event held on September 22, 2012, transforming the Perry House surroundings into a German festival.
For only $50, music will be provided by The Austrian Boys Band. There will be plenty of beer and wursts, pretzels and other Bavarian delicacies.
Proceeds will support the operation of the Perry House Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization established in 2004 to help preserve and manage Perry House (c.1690) as a visitors’ center and a facility for educational programs and private rentals.
This German event will be the continuation of events held by the Perry House Foundation, starting in 2009, celebrating Stratford’s diverse culture.
