Beyond the Myth: A Film About Pit Bulls and Breed Discrimination

Beyond the Myth is a powerful documentary about dogs commonly referred to as “pit bulls” both pure breeds and mixes, and those who love and defend these breeds. It explores the contributing factors behind the public’s generalized fear of “pit bulls,” and examines the conflict existing between advocates and opponents of breed discriminatory laws, as carried out in three cities that ban pit bull-type dogs: Denver, Miami, and Cincinnati along with San Francisco, which requires the animals to be spayed and neutered.

We're especially excited to announce that our special guest for the evening will be Cherry the Vicktory Dog! You can meet Cherry and and give him a hug and and maybe even get a kiss in return!

Cherry was one of the 53 pit bulls rescued from Michael Vick's Dog Fighting Compound and taken in by Best Friends Sanctuary.
