Carol Hughes

On March 29, Carol asked on our Facebook homepage: Does anyone know what happened to the in Stratford?

Here was the response (Stratford Patch is still trying to find out itself):

  • Ed Orris it was a franchise like Norwalk, Hartford and Mystic. They all closed. The original SRRC is located in West Haven and is still open.
  • Carol Hughes All of them closed? The one in West Haven is the only good one. [Stratford's] nothing at all like the original. Sorry to hear they all closed. Wonder what happened?
  • Donna Rae Henault Caporaso There are a few stories floating around from unpaid taxes to underage drinking but I heard they will be reopening under another name.

(As soon as we hear what the official word is, we'll share it with you. In the meantime, if you have any 'inside information,' please share in the comments.)

Stratford Septa

(April 3) A heartbreaking who is full of life...and sure would love to be included on the playground or on a birthday party guest list. Worth sharing -- not because it's sad but because wouldn't it be great for other kids and their parents to know just how much a simple act of kindness would mean to this boy?

Stratford Animal Rescue Society

(March 31) Today was our first class for . "What does it take to care for your pet?" The kids were great, and a good time was had by all! We learned about caring for our pets and what is needed to do so. They had a tour of the facility, we discussed what it takes to provide for, care for and much more.

They also did some arts and crafts- coloring pets and sculpting pets from Model Magic, and spent some time with a dog and cat, Pebbles and Tux, who are awaiting for someone to adopt them! We hope to see the kids again at future classes and that they spread the word and bring some friends along too! Please watch for upcoming programs. They will be offered by topic and age groups.
