How to Use Patch's 'Boards'

Wondering what the 'Boards' section of Patch is all about?

Patch provides local news, events, announcements, blogs and a whole lot more, including a popular column for the community called "Boards."

The Boards section is designed for you, the reader, to post something of interest. It could be a question to other readers or an opinion about something going on in town. It's a forum where you can "talk" to your community.

Let's take a closer look at the four categories:

Speak Out - is where you can express your opinion on a subject, similar to a Letter to the Editor or Op-Ed. Just make sure it conforms to the Patch Terms of Use

Town Square - is where you might ask others about a construction project across from town hall (what are they building?), or what the score was from last night's high school football game. It's a general announcement-type category.

Buy/Sell/Trade - is becoming 'the' spot to post items for sale, or as the category suggests, for trade or wanted to buy. "Hair stylist will trade hair cut & color services for computer help services." If you are posting something for sale, make sure to include a description of your item, your contact information, and a good photo.

Business Updates - is for local business owners as well as their customers to post the latest from the commerce section in town including grand openings, closings, special sales, job openings, etc.
