          Richard J. Buturla, Stratford Democratic Town Chairman, today announced that the Democratic Town Committee has successfully worked together to present one unified slate at a caucus to be held on January 9, 2014 at Bunnell High School.

          Buturla commented, “I want to thank the extraordinary effort of Democratic leaders, elected officials, Len Petrucelli, Joe Paul and most importantly, Democratic State Party Chair Nancy DiNardo in composing this vibrant slate.”

          “I am pleased that all recognized that our common beliefs and purpose are, in fact, stronger than any division that may have existed” he said.

 

          Len Petrucelli, a member of the Stratford Board of Education and an announced candidate for Democratic Town Committee Chair said, “We were able to come together for the good of the party.  This is positive news for the Stratford Democratic Party and indeed, for our community.  Our Town Committee is reflective of our diverse community, working together, our future is bright,” he stated.

 

Joe Paul, former Mayoral candidate, stated, “I am looking forward to working together with the newly united Stratford Democratic Town Committee to ensure that the needs of our community are addressed and that we demonstrate a more strategic effort toward cultivating and getting candidates elected in the future.”

 

          State Democratic Chair, Nancy DiNardo concluded, “I appreciate the willingness of Stratford’s Democratic leaders to sit down and overcome their respective differences.  On behalf of the State Democratic Party, they have my gratitude.”
