Stratford Actress Nadine Willig to Appear in Fairfield and Westport

Performing arts producer JIB Productions has announced most of the lineup for its Play With Your Food programs at Toquet Hall in Westport Feb. 5-7 and at Fairfield Theatre Company on Feb. 12.

Now in its 11th season, PWYF is a theater program that includes a buffet lunch and dessert, short-play readings by professional actors and a post-show discussion.

Performances are held from noon to 1:30 p.m. on dates in January, February, March and April.  February’s lunch will be catered by Matsu Sushi in Westport and by Garelick and Herbs for the production at FTC.

This month’s productions will be an excerpt from “Barbra’s Wedding” by Daniel Stern. Written by the actor, known for his work in the Home Alone and City Slicker movies, the play is about an out-of-work television actor and his wife as they examine their own marriage in the midst of the wedding madness surrounding their famous neighbor, Barbra Streisand, who has not invited them to her elaborate Malibu nuptials.

Clark Gookin will play Jerry, the out-of-work actor. His wife will be played by Bethany Caputo, (the Diaries of Adam and Eve, Lynette at 3 AM). Both will be coming from New York.

Gookin is a Colorado native whose work includes “Friendly Fire” at Playwrights Horizons.  “Bethany and Clark have worked together many times. When they're on stage
together, it's an unpredictable blend of fireworks," says PWYF Artistic Director Carole Schweid.

Nadine Willig (Stratford) will appear in “Today a Little Extra” by Michael Kassin, which ponders how you hold on to a little bit of the past when times are changing in the neighborhood… and everywhere else?

“Nadine will play Mrs. Abrams, possibly the last customer standing, at the last Kosher butcher shop in the old neighborhood,” explains Schweid. “This play was originally done at the world-famous Actors Theatre of Louisville.”

A third play is soon to be announced. Check www.JIBProductions.org
