Santa Visits Stratford Rotary Club, Brings Gifts for Special Guests

At its year-end meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 20 at the , the Stratford Rotary Club welcomed several special guests. About a dozen students from and , as well as their teachers, joined the community service club for lunch.

Just as their plates were cleared, another special guest arrived -- Santa! Santa had gifts for all the girls and boys.

The Stratford Rotary Club is a community service organization of people who live or work in Stratford. Some of the Stratford Rotary's accomplishments this year include:

  • Organizing the ;
  • Giving dictionaries to every 3rd grader and thesauruses to every 5th grader in Stratford public or parochial schools;
  • Raised $3,000 for local food banks at our Rib Night;
  • Held a golf tournament at Short Beach Golf Course to benefit the Youth Scholarships and Stratford and Golf Scholarships.

The Stratford Rotary Club meets every Tuesday at 12:15 p.m. at the Oronoque Country Club. Our next meeting will be Jan. 3.
