The Central Connecticut Coast YMCA recently presented a Y Volunteer of the Year Award Erin Russell of Fairfield, CT for her commitment to the Bridgeport and Stratford YMCAs, both branches of the Central Connecticut Coast YMCA.
The Central Connecticut Coast YMCA Volunteer of the Year Award is a way to honor the generosity and dedication of the best of the best. The Central Connecticut Coast YMCA has more than 1,048 volunteers across our service area. Their kindness is the core of our existence, playing a critical role in carrying out our mission.
Erin Russell graciously focuses her volunteer time with the BSY (Bridgeport Stratford Y) Swim Team. For years, she has worked closely with the swimmers and their families. She insures that they are stimulated and enjoy the program while preparing them to compete, teaching them to set goals, be good sports and learn leadership skills. For the last 12 months, she has held the volunteer position of head coach where she has unselfishly assumed additional responsibilities for the collaborative swim team.
The Central Connecticut Coast YMCA is a community service agency dedicated to addressing community needs that enrich families, promote health and wellness, develop youth and build self-esteem for all.
