The new program, which begins Aug. 29, prepares students for positions such as machine operator, CNC (Computer Numeric Control) operator, CNC programmer, assembler, and Quality Control inspector, which can pay in the $15-$20 per-hour range. The program is being offered through HCC’s new Regional Advanced Manufacturing Center, which serves students from a 43-town region in Fairfield, New Haven and Middlesex counties that extends from the New York State line to the Connecticut River and north to Middletown, Meriden, and the Danbury/Waterbury area.
