Young Stratford Readers Celebrated Today in Stratford

A couple happenings on Wednesday, Aug. 21, in Stratford.

Some goings-on in town today, Wednesday, Aug. 21:

Young Stratford Readers Celebrated Stratford Mayor John A. Harkins will be recognizing a couple hundred Stratford students for reading at least eight books this summer as part of the Harkins' Heroes program. The event will take place at the Baldwin Center, beginning at 4 p.m. Advanced registration required.

Technology Sandbox at the Stratford Library The Stratford Library will continue its series of invaluable workshops designed to help adults learn about new technologies and applications currently on the market. 'Technology Sandbox' will include basic assistance dealing with the use of e-readers, tablet computers, MP3 players, iPods and more. The library's professional staff will conduct the workshops scheduled through August 2013. They are free and open to the public. Wednesday's event runs from 5 to 7 p.m.
