Bristol Man Charged with Sexual Assault of Stratford Teen
The suspect allegedly met the victim on an Internet chat room.
Stratford police have arrested a Bristol man on charges that he sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl he met on an Internet chat room.
David W. Feeney, 45, of 148 South Street Ext., Bristol, was held on $750,000 following his arrest on July 20 on charges of first-degree sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor.
Stratford police issued a press release today that said Feeney first made contact with the Stratford teenager on an Internet chat room on July 6 and continued to communicate with her for several weeks.
Police said on July 19, Feeney met the girl at a Stratford location and that is when the alleged sexual assault took place. A relative of the girl interrupted the assault and Feeney fled, according to police.
Detectives were able to identify Feeney as their suspect and obtained an arrest warrant and a search and seizure warrant for a DNA sample, police said.
Police arrested Feeney the next day at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Hartford. He was transported to Stratford and initially held for observation at Bridgeport Hospital.
No details were available about where Feeney met the girl, who the relative was, what Feeney was doing at the hospital in Hartford, or why he was held at Bridgeport Hospital.
Several Stratford detectives and police officers participated in Feeney’s arrest. The police report said Mt. Sinai Hospital authorities were uncooperative when detectives attempted to obtain the DNA sample. Feeney’s clothing was also seized as evidence, police said.

He's a nurse! This is appalling considering his daughter is almost the same age!
